Early morning you will be pickup from your hotel and proceed toward the Dakshinachitra village by vehicle which is almost 18 miles (29 km) away from Chennai. Expend approximately 45 minutes in Dakshinachitra noted as “A Picture of the South” which conserves the traditional Dravidian way of life.
Here watch traditional Indian homes, uncover the open-air museum and visit the artisan workshops to review about the Dravidian crafts of various regions in South India including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh – a considerable activity for kids. Here, you may watch traditional theatre performances as well as local craftsmen making pottery and baskets, weaving silk and building puppets.
Then, drive approximately 14.5 miles (23.3 km) to Mahabalipuram which is full of rock-cut monuments and wonderful examples of Dravidian architecture.
On reaching, with your guide visit various cave temples and sculpted respites including Five Rathas, Arjuna Dhabas, Krishna Mandapam, Krishna Butterball and Shore Temple.
