The women then make the idols of Lord Shiva and Gangaur (Shiva’s consort) ready. They prepare the most famous sweet named Ghewar, which they offer to the God and Goddess. Later it is distributed among the people and consumed as Prasad. Womenfolk of Mewar, worship Goddess Gangaur for their happy married life and for the well-being of their husbands. Single girls worship Goddess Gangaur seeking an ideal match.

Rituals to Be Performed

The women perform dance and sing religious songs during the procession. The idols are carried in the different parts of the city. The procession ends as they reach the Gangaur Ghat of Lake Pichola.
